- On June 22, Nikkei Inc. and Nikkei Business Publications, Inc. (Nikkei BP), in cooperation with Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) hosted a preview symposium for the upcoming Eighth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD8).
- Renji Morita, CEO of Unchorlight Kenya Limited, was invited to the symposium as a panelist. He joined a session called “Start-up Business Models for Tapping African Potential” as CEO of a Japanese start-up company challenging the African market with the other three participants*.
- In the panel, they discussed challenges and opportunities of doing business in Africa. Morita emphasized how the company put importance on facing customers’ daily lives as a key for success.
